I left Cursor. Last night made me want to go back.
Notes from Cursor Build Night in Singapore: Composer 2.5 speed, design tooling, cloud agents, and one admin task I finally did.
Went to the Cursor Build Night last night, organised by 65 Labs.
Honest admission: I hadn’t touched Cursor in a while. Used it early, then moved to Claude Code, then Codex. Not because Cursor got worse. Just didn’t go back.
Agrim walked through Composer 2.5 and the speed is noticeably different. That hit somewhere specific for me.
The part of building I find most frustrating is UI refinements and refactoring. Not hard work. Slow work. Slow enough that I end up picking up something else while waiting, and then the focus is gone. I’ve been accepting that as normal.
Hearing about the speed changes made me think: what if that gap is smaller now? Worth finding out.
They also gave out free credits on the night. I let Cursor loose on parts of Cricket OS. Haven’t checked the output yet. That’s kind of the point. I’ll report back.
Other things from the night worth noting:
Sherry shared some design tooling: Magic Path, Mobbin MCP plugged into Cursor, and Impeccable. Brian demoed cloud agents where the task spins up in a sandboxed VPS and you can pull it back to local when you want. Different ways people are shaping their workflows.
And a practical one: NTUC shared that Singapore developers can claim AI tool subscriptions through UTAP. Filed that claim today.
That’s the thing about showing up. You don’t always walk away with a framework. Sometimes it’s one tool to revisit, a workflow idea, and one admin task you finally did.
